Make sure you didn’t missed the two last subject about your warrior build about the adrenaline generation and your role.
The next subject of the “Build your Warrior” schema: your critical percentage. Having a decent critical chance value has many uses – it obviously helps you deal more damage. Yet, it also helps taking advantage of the discipline trait line that you use in so many builds. It gives so many side effects combined with your traits (bleeding, vulnerability, adrenaline etc), and it definitely gives you the opportunity to equip a defensive amulet.
The warrior has six ways to build critical chance on his own: Amulets, the arms trait line, stuns, fury, Heightened Focus and the Sigil of Intelligence.
Before going deeper into those different possibilities, I would like to introduce one of the last competitive builds Izkimar and I made during the stress test (we are always working on our builds with multiple people at the same time, because having different perspectives is essential) – this is a good example of how to build your critical chance as warrior.
The first mindset I came in with for this spec was to build a warrior able to kill “bunkers” (those unkillable guys sitting on points like a Queen’s guard), and the second one was that the community would most likely be able to play a viable Hundred Blades/Frenzy build, and I haven’t seen any being good enough in a competitive area.
And there are many ways to modify it :
- Soldier’s amulet with a berserker jewel instead of the berserker one
- Battle Sigil instead of Leeching Sigil
- Signet of rage instead of the Battle standard
- Bull’s charge or For Great Justice instead of Fear me
- Frenzy isn’t mandatory
All those changes depend on your personal preferences and the kind of builds/metagame you are playing against.
In every case, this build uses the Fury buff to get a high critical percentage thanks to the combination of Leg Specialist and Opportunist. This gives you a total of three immobilizes considering the two cripples you have. If you bring For Great Justice in this build (which might be a good idea if you are playing with a Soldier’s amulet), your fury uptime will be crazy. This is one way to bring a good critical percentage value in your build. This build is using three out of the four ways to improve your critical chances: Fury, as we have seen, but also a direct precision gain coming from the arms trait line, and even with the Berserker amulet if you want to.
Another way to bring a consistent critical chance value is to play with Unsuspecting Foe. This works extremely well when you are playing with a hammer, a mace or a shield. I mainly used the Skull Crack into Hundred Blades in my BWE3 build to land a large amount of damage. The Shield Bash into Eviscerate also combos well with each other, or even Earthshaker then switching weapons using two shouts to give adrenaline with the trait and landing an eviscerate on it. Or simply auto attack with your axe/sword/hammer on a stunned target works definitely well.
If you are running a Soldier’s Amulet or a Valkyrie’s Amulet, then it can be good to bring Heightened Focus, which grants you critical chance based on your level of adrenaline. This along with Fury is a very good way to get viable levels of crit when not using a crit amulet.
The last way to bring critical chances is the Sigil of Intelligence. This is usable with pretty much every high damaging ability in the game (Rush, Eviscerate, Kill Shot etc).
Also, make sure you didn’t miss my last warrior pov game !
