“Laughter is the fuel that keep the wheels of life moving” -Rytlock Brimstone
Featuring the comic stylings of Knut Whitebear, Logan Thackery, Zojja and Captain Weyandt, this absolutely amazing collection of short sound bites is sure to have your sides splitting. Honestly, I can’t say anything else that wouldn’t do this a massive injustice. Just go listen to it.
Whether you imbibe or not, you can’t deny that alcohol is part of Guild Wars 2, be it the fine Boston lager you drink with friends while playing, or the Flask of Blood Whiskey your character happens to carry with them throughout their adventurers in Tyria. Well, a staple of IRL drinking culture has apparently made its way into the world of Tyria. Forum user Toyoll, has started the (as far as I know) first Tyrian Pub Crawl.
Greetings from your friendly neighbourhood Blood Centurion! Kyneska Marrowtaster, here and I cordially invite you all on the Great Tyrian Pub Crawl!
It’s simple, really! Post images of your character having a grand ol’ time in any alehouse, bar, dive, drinkery, gin mill, grog shop, hostelry, hotel, inn, joint, lodge, lounge, night spot, pub, tavern, public house, saloon, speakeasy, taphouse, taproom, wine sink or watering hole you find in any and every corner of Tyria!
Ideas like this are a great way to spice up your play time. Insane? Useless? Potentially worthy of strange looks and the odd condemnation? Perhaps, but I fully support this effort to make the streets of Lion’s Arch flow with booze and brew! I’ll see you at the Crow’s Nest.
Destrina, over of the GuildWars2 sub-reddit, posted an image of a very special holiday card. A Holiday Card sent by ArenaNet, decked with an adorable popup of the five races of tyria, and containing the message ” Happy Holidays From ArenaNet. Thanks for Making 2012 such a Great year!”. The card was also signed by numerous ArenaNet Staff, and were clearly hand signed!
You can see a few other angles of the card in this album.
Leimone also post a picture of his ArenaNet GW2 Holiday Card, and managed to get a response from Regina herself!
MMO’s tend to inspire people. Whether its Short Fan created Videos, Comic Strips or Plush Backpacks, people get creative with the adoration of games like Guild Wars 2. However, I can honestly say, I have never seen this kind of devotion extend toward the creation of Fantasy lawsuits.
3 days ago, Vito Schwam ‘Romana’ brought the case of one Jane Roe before the Superior Court of Divinity’s Reach (a.k.a. the Official ArenaNet Wintersday Forum). The chief charge against the Toymake Tixx is one of negligence. From the transcript:
3. On Day 74 – Season of Colossus, plaintiff attempted to play with said Princess Doll ®, purchased from TIXX INFINIRARIUM, whereupon said Princess Doll® spontaneously began a program wherein a “tantrum” was thrown, to the best of knowledge of the Plaintiff, in the general direction of the Plaintiff. Shortly thereafter, said Princess Doll® began firing lethal projectiles in, to the best of the Plaintiff’s knowledge, the general direction of the plaintiff. Such firing did continue until aforementioned Princess Doll® did run out of batteries and cease all homicidal activity.
I think any of us who have walked in the country side of Tyria or Ascalon throughout this Wintersday can sympathize with Ms. Doe. I myself saw an errant SylvariTrampled to death by a vicious herd of Wooden Ventari Dolls. It was the most Cruel and Ironic thing I have yet seen in my journeys.
However, Tixx’s own legal team does make some strong points. From the continued transcripts:
2. Plaintiff JANE ROE, a minor, is a whiny smelly bookah crybaby.
3. Plaintiff JANE ROE, being utterly incapable of appreciating the genius of my client’s creation, and utterly incompetent in its employment, recklessly seeks to destroy his reputation as she recklessly destroyed her own home.
4. Plaintiff JANE ROE is no match for my intellect.
Citizens, I believe it will come down to your own pressures. We have the power to support a wronged child, or defend a crazed Asura who is bound to give us more presents.
I think our choice is clear…

There’s really no substitute for sitting down with a seasonal beverage and reading the whole forum thread in one sitting. There are some hilarious responses, and its great to see the community spirit flare up around this kind of comedy. You can start your reading here.
Wooden Potatoes has released an interesting little video on his take on Guild Wars 2′s Endgame. I’ve had a lot of the concerns that WP has had himself, and I think he voices a number of really interesting concerns, and also solutions. This game really is about self drive, and this video is a nice look at that search for motivation.
