While playing the the Guild Wars 2 Closed Beta, I got to play around with the Guardian a little bit. Here’s some footage of the Bow of Truth utility skill. (I can’t quite tell if it actually worked during the PvP, but to me it looks like it went off on the ally nearest to me and cleansed him of burning.)

Five years ago, United States PC Gamer subscribers were opening their mailboxes to find an issue that would change the Guild Wars community forever. It was a magazine sporting a gorgeous Guild Wars 2 logo and boasting the following HOT NEWS: GUILD WARS CAMPAIGNS CANCELLED!
Inside the May 2007 issue of PC Gamer, 12 pages announced and described Guild Wars’ first and only expansion, Eye of the North, along with the Hall of Monuments that would carry character achievements from Guild Wars into its newly-announced sequel, which at the time was slated to hit beta in 2008 and release in 2009. This came at the cost of ending development on Guild Wars: Utopia, the game’s fabled fourth campaign that never saw the light of day.
In this article, we will review what developers and officials with ArenaNet said about Guild Wars 2 the day it was first announced, and see how much of the game has held up in the last five years.
