This week, the Community Spotlight column is turning to the US and into the world of PvE to give us the next spotlight guild.  Our winner this week is giving us an inside look into their guild’s inner workings, and their forum thread is a sticky so interested readers can easily look them up.

So without further adieu, it’s time to look at this week’s guild of the week:

Full article after the break!

I had a chance to sit down with one of House Fexdrion’s officers (Liminach) for some quick Q&A. We covered everything from how long the guild’s been around to some of their recent events. Let me tell you, these guys are off their rocker but a blast to play with. This is a small guild and they want to stay that way in spirit, but they are definitely wanting to fill out the ranks a bit for Guild Wars 2.

GWI: How old is the guild?

Lim: Formally, about 6 years. We’ve been playing together long enough to change characters from D&D 3 to D&D 3.5. Some of our running jokes originated in Baldur’s Gate 2. We started playing Guild Wars around 2006.

GWI: What are other games the guild is involved in (or if this is a GW/GW2 only guild)?

Lim: GW and GW2 are the only MMO games we currently play, but we’ve played quite a few games together in the past, such as DDO. We still play D&D, Icewind Dale 2, Sword of the Stars, Sins of a Solar Empire, UT2004, and Battle for Wesnoth. The list of games we have played in the past is rather staggering, so I’ll stop here.

GWI: How rigorous is the application process?

Lim: The application is free for anyone to sign up. We’ve historically been small and would like to retain the sense of community our members have, but we are looking to expand. Anyone that wants to join our ranks is welcome; no application necessary.

GWI: What are your plans for GW2?

Lim: Personally, PvE and personal story until I hit the level cap, then more PvE. I love the exploration and setting. Our guild focus will definitely be the high-end PvE content. Explorable mode dungeons, Elite Dynamic Events, and exploration are all key areas where House Fexdrion will be present.

GWI: Tell me some cool features about your website

Lim: The website is custom built from the ground up, so adding new features as we go is definitely something that can be done. As for current features, We’ve got a guides section of the website that is expanding out gameplay topics such as how traits work, attributes, and Boons/Conditions. Once the game has launched, we will be adding in profession guides and tips/tricks to help our members.

GWI: What is the atmosphere in-game and on the site (Casual, laid-back, serious, number-crunchy)

Lim: Our guild has a pretty laid back environment. We are serious when it comes to a guild goal, like beating the Ascalonian Catacombs Explorable mode, but we also have some crazy stunts we like to pull. One of our favorites is the new “Drunken Dungeons”. We’ve always had nights where we all grab something to drink and go dungeon diving using crazy or off the wall specs, using wierd weapons, or everyone using the same profession. It makes for some good comedy and we thought we’d officialize it. Next Wednesday, We’re going to the “Shards of Orr” to take down Fendi Nin. We’ll be filming parts of the run and keeping a tally of any of the highlights of the run or any stupid stuff that ends up happening. It’s tons of fun.

All in all, these guys know how to kick back and have a good time, but when it comes time to buckle down and get the job done, House Fexdrion really comes together. There’s not as many guilds focused on PvE content as PvP, but if you’re in the market for a PvE guild, these guys welcome everyone to come check them out!

This week was all about custom content, but next week we’re going to keep moving onward. The next community spotlight guild will be a complete free-for-all. If you know of a guild that deserves to be up here, let us know in the forums and we’ll check them out.

Remember, the only requirement to have a chance to get your guild included in this column is to have a thread in our Guild Recruitment forum.
