Guild Wars 2 PvP Roundtable With ArenaNet
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:12:01 AM »
Figured I'd let everyone drop their comments here about the article and podcast. Sorry for the delay, but some WvWvW stuff needed to be cut out (ArenaNet want's to be able to show you in a future post) and of course there was a snow storm that slowed the whole process down.

Anyways, it's been a lot of work, now we want to know your thoughts on the article and what you'd like to see in some PvP screenshots!

If listening to that interview doesn't turn you into a rabid fanboy, then honestly you need to go play Hello Kitty Online.

Really nice to hear some more about wvwvw.

For screenshots:
Well the giant trebuchet or a siege suit with someone next to it for scale would be interesting although I suppose a pvp teasertrailer type thing would work better. I suppose examples of the keeps and towers and the different enviroments you can fight in. Charr warriors are always nice.

I am not normally a person to get overly excited about PvP but holy geez. Now, I really can't wait to get into it on GW2. And it will feel more comfortable for me because it will be a clean slate start of PvP and not have to catch up in order to enjoy it.

Great interview, Seven! Keep this stuff up man!

Im looking for anything from keep screenshots all the way to a general layout of the maps.  Honestly, as long as it is a new screenshot of GW2 I will already be happy.

I would have to say some cross-profession-combos during hectic battles. Maybe some elite skills.

And most importantly. . . MESMERS!

lol agreed. It was awesome transcribing some of it. I'm not a big PvP'er but even I was getting excited to try it out.

Haha, I didn't play much PvP in GW1 but the more I hear about how it'll be in GW2 the more jazzed I get. I know my boyfriend's gonna flip, too. Haha. I only hope that I'm able to play a bunch when it's first released, 'cause developments in PvP strategies crop up really fast and if I don't get in there and try it out I worry that I'd "fall behind" and be unable to keep up.

At least you won't have to fight the gear in gw2 even if you fall behind.

PvP in GW1 was actually kind of fun (well some of it). I had a BLAST in Jade Quarry with my ranger/ele combo. Although being a Kurz sucked since it took forever to get a match. Sometimes I would go to the Lux side but they would lose a lot so it was pretty disheartening after a while.

GW2 PvP looks like a ton of fun though. And that's all of it, not just bits and pieces.
