Mail Delivery System - Is It Obtrusive?

Caught this post over on MMORPG.com by DeaconX. He pointed out the size and location of the envelope represents a danger during gameplay. I didn't think much about it until I watched the video segment he was pointing out. He may well have a point.

Yeah, I love the bird. and visually the envelope looks great. Its just that "OMFG #%$$%" moment when next hit wins that concerns me. Had it happen once in WoW. Damn popup cost us the match.

I think it's fine, just make sure to catch it when people ARN'T in combat or anything major... another thing would be to put it off to the side and make it opaque so it's not so eye catching.. yes, it's nice to know we just got mail.. but it was alittle obnoxious...

Looks like it could cover several enemies. I think maybe if they made it a 1/4 of the size would make it in your face but not blinding you.

I have yet to UI customization. If it is as robust as GW1, you might be able to move its location.

I agree that it will need a little tweaking. It's nice to know I've got mail, but does it really have to cover almost the whole screen Pity for anyone playing on a smaller monitor.

You can say that again! Haha. I'm not one of those people but yeah...I can imagine lower-res issues.

Yeah I think it's really too big and it definitely needs a bit of tweaking. I'd be fine if they just put the notification up on the mail icon instead of putting it in the screen like that.

It looks good but its WAY to big the first thing I thought when I saw that was "hey that looks fun to troll my friends with" but i know there will be people who use it to grief =/

Hey...there's an idea. And something else? I would totally troll my friends by sending them mail ... Space-enter-send ftw!... But if i were to do that, i'd actually send a troll face too.

I do that to my friends while texting. I actually managed to crash (for phones?) his phone by just space-sending him like 20 texts with only a picture every 10 or so.

Yeah, I noticed this when watching one of the Yogscast videos... that thing is huge! There's no need for it to be so big. Hopefully they'll either fix it or give us options to change it.
