Guild Wars 2 Beta Sign Up Issues and Info | Guild Wars 2 Beta News Source

We have been getting a healthy dose of comments about issues with confirmation email and some other problems. Thankfully, ArenaNet has been tweeting information about these things and so we thought we would relay them. Please forgive the paraphrasing and we are trying hard to keep up with the current posts on the matter – so keep checking back.

About The Confirmation Emails…

Confirmation email is not immediate. System takes a while due to volume. Just be patient. At the moment, it should be within one (1) hour.
Request a Confirmation Email Resend at this url – https://beta.guildwars2.com/resend
If you get an “email not recognized” error, then you either did not finish the process earlier or you made a typo. Please sign up again.
Please check your spam folders if you don’t receive an email confirmation.
They have not sent out acceptances; only confirmation that your submission request has been received.
Please double check and make sure you’re typing in your email address correctly when signing up for the GuildWars 2 beta!
What matters is that you submit a valid email address. No throwaway emails or temp email addresses.
BlueHornet is the mailing list service used to mail out the newsletter
If you get a message saying that your email is already signed up, then all your info is in their system.
ArenaNet is getting mixed reports on Gmail. Some have issues, some don’t

Other Info…

If you have multiple graphics cards, be assured that ArenaNet got info on both.
If Country dropdown is empty – try typing in first 3 letters. If that fails, try another browser. (Not ArenaNet – found on forum)
Some issues with Scannertron can be resolved by running it as ADMIN.
If the Scannertron won’t redirect you at the end – set IE as your default browser temporarily. There are some issues with different versions of Firefox.
Scannertron provides info on both HDDs, but will only display one text field. Don’t worry, they (ArenaNet) are getting all the info.
Only one is being displayed in the text field. Trouble selecting country from dropdown form? Try typing it 1st then select from dropdown. If you don’t see dropdown try another.
Beta is open to Europe
The press were given an exception for video capture. Those participating in a closed beta event are under STRICT NDA.
Nothing can be recorded. No pics. You can’t even tell anyone that you are in (if you get in). No bragging rights.
Minors who get accepted into the Beta will need their parents to sign the NDA on their behalf
The last closed beta event ended on Sunday. The next closed beta event is TBA.
Selection depends on ArenaNet’s development needs.

Got my confirmation mail but it's kinda bugged if i can say that.I got mail from this adress "bounce+bc7d0e.35e-xrjan=mail.ru@guildwars2.com".And this mail consits of random symbols.And in the end"Subject: Thanks for signing up for the Guild Wars 2 beta test".When i request to resend my conf.mail, i get the same.What is the problem?thnx

when will they accept people into the beta?

Signed up, got a confirmation email. Would like to know when they start sending out the acceptance emails? I'm assuming it'll be when the sign up phase is over, but there are a few people claiming they got an acceptance email after their confirmation emails. Which would break the NDA for a start.

I get that we need to sign a NDA but I think it's a little bit odd that if you sign up for Beta you can make this auto tweet (generated by Anet) which sais like woot i just signed up for Beta - join the revolution. Isn't this weird if you keep the NDA in mind?

I'm still having trouble with signup, I get email not recognized when doing resend and email already used when trying to send again..

Scannertron opens up in Word so all I get is a page of garbage. I've tried IE nothing,running as admin and still nothing works. I have the exe file on my computer and that works but I keep getting a 400 error page when it tries to redirect me to finish the sign up. Any suggestions?

Here's something I'm not sure is an issue: after I fill out my information and click submit, the page goes blank. I don't go to a page that says "your information has been submitted successfully" or anything like that, just blank white. I tried 3 times just in case the page glitched, but all 3 times the same thing happened.

Did they fix the issue where the scanner was showing your graphic memory speed as the amount of graphics memory you have? Example: I have 1536MB on my GTX 580 running at 4000MHz, but it was showing up as me having 4000MB of video card RAM. Sent this to their twitter since they have no email or forums.

There are a few issues that I have seen that they said they have no information on or work looking into. I am pretty sure yours qualifies as both. Will keep my eyes open for anything on their feed or abroad.

They tweeted the Resend link as well: https://beta.guildwars2.com/resend (not too hard to figure out) I had not received my confirmation after signing up around 1:45pm, and just now went to the resend link and received mine immediately.

there's no drop-down for the country and it's not accepting typed in responses. How can this be fixed?

ArenaNet suggests trying a different browser should this occur.

You can also try typing the first few letters of your country and it should now give u a list.

Ignore that other post I put. Its not working in any browsers. Problem with my comp then?

I also had that problem but it really does work if you do the sign up in a different browser.. I used chrome initially and it didnt work but i tried firefox and it did work.. just make sure that you're actually signing up on firefox.
