A while back, redditor Demonstrative setup an IRC channel that allowed players to find groups for tournament teams, even if they’re on different servers. Since then, #gw2ringer has evolved into a hang out for both casual and competitive players alike, with members of various teams present at all hours. Launch may be over 20 days away, but if you’re looking for like-minded players to chitchat with about Guild Wars 2 PvP, then #gw2ringer might be for you.

How do I join #GW2Ringer?

To join the channel, you must connect to Gamesurge. Tutorial found here.

From there it’s as simple as typing “/join #GW2Ringer”.

How do I use #GW2Ringer?

To advertise in search of a ringer for your team, use the following (or similar) format:

  • “Looking for [REGION] [TIMEZONE] [CLASS] [RANK REQUIREMENT] [VOIP]!!!”

Example: “Looking for US | EST | Guardian | Rank 10+ | Have MUMBLE!!!”

To advertise, as a ringer, in search of a team, use the following (or similar) format:

  • “Ringer Available – [REGION] [TIMEZONE] [CLASS] [RANK] [VOIP]!!!”

Example: “Ringer Available – US | EST | Guardian | Rank 13!!! | Mumble & Vent”

Rules

Automated spam and flood prevention have been set in order to keep the channel from becoming to chaotic, and easier for players to read and use.

  • No flooding. (1 hour ban)
  • No more than 2 lines in 15 seconds. (kick)
  • No notices sent to the channel. ( 1 hour ban)
