Since Guild Wars 2 went live a little over a month ago, the question of how the game will continue to develop has been on the minds of many players.  Colin Johanson, Lead Content Designer at ArenaNet, shed some light on their philosophy and plans for the future development of the live game.  Colin says that ArenaNet is committed to bringing players more high quality content with events that are immersive and possibly even permanent.

Our goal is to continue to raise the bar by keeping the game constantly updated with more high-quality content than any other game has offered before.

Colin also outlines how Arenanet plans to accomplish these goals with multiple small teams.  These live teams will be working to expand the experience for Guild Wars 2 players in the long term.  Performance, PvP, Events and Economy are only some of the areas covered by these specialized teams.  ArenaNet promises that these dedicated live teams are ten times larger than they had for the original Guild Wars which will supply exciting game play for years to come.

To meet our goal, rather than have one small live team as is normally provided in traditional MMOs, we have formed multiple live teams focused on expanding Guild Wars 2 in the long term.
