We’re back again with another selection of posts from the official Thief Sub- forums, raning from fears about stealth to questions about the future of the thief class.  So, shake of that post-Halloween Candy withrdrawal, and get back to thievery!

Backstab, time to nerf

There are a number of these kinds of threads on the official forums and frankly, I’m sick of them. essentially the OP is pissed that a thief backtab did 8000 damage in one hit, and think that that needs to be reduced. It is revealed that the OP was running a very small health pool, and there are many other chagres and debates throughout the thread, but the most important thing is the Red Post that comes up on page 2:

Just wanted you guys to know we’re looking at this specifically right now. We will probably bring down the raw spike DPS for some builds, but we’ll be careful to increase other areas to compensate.

Interesting, we’ll need to keep our eye open.

How do you stop perma-stealth Thieves

I’m not sure that this message is going to get out to those that play other classes (since this is a Thief column), but there is a real problem on the official Thief forum with people complaining about thieves. A lot. This thread, and the last thread, are both examples of a disturbing trend in which the Thief is quickly becoming the scapegoat of the Guild Wars 2 Professions. It happens a lot to classes that have stealth and high burst, but I had hoped it might be avoidable. Apparently, it was destined to happen…

Stealth with the Halloween Backbook

Good to know! In fact, I hadn’t even considered this issue, since i was so enamored with the coolness of the Complete Edition, let alone the fact that it is a functioning source of light for dark puzzles. :)

Weapon Sigil choice

Good little discussion, and one I’m going through myself right now. For me? Superior Sigil of Earth on my pistol, stack all them bleeds. Yes, yes, I know that the Dagger/Dagger build is technically better at condition damage, but if you’ll excuse me for a moment, I’m going to go be a gunslinger tyvm…

WvWvW Thieves, Listen Up.

A phenomenal suggestion. Seriously, if you are a Thief and you are WvW focused, you should check out this thread. I cannot imagine how much fun it would be to run with a group of 10 thieves at once, hitting and running, assassinating targets, etc. etc. Sure, one guardian could definitely slow you down, but oh well..
